AP projects Ossoff as winner of the Senate election in Georgia

According to the projection, the Democrat keeps his seat, the seven key races are still without a projection.

The news agency AP projects Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff as the winner of the Senate election in Georgia. According to this projection, he prevails over Republican Mike Collins. This is reported by NPR, citing the AP, published on 4 November 2026 at 1:55 CET. The report does not give the time of the projection itself. It is a projection, not an official final result.

Georgia is not one of the seven key races. The calculation under Senate already counts the seat for the Democrats. The projection therefore does not change the starting position of 47 seats for the Democrats and 46 for the Republicans.

For Maine, Texas, Ohio, Alaska, Iowa, Kansas and Michigan there is no projection by the AP or a major broadcaster as of 2:10 CET. In Ohio the polls have been closed since 1:30 CET, in Maine, Michigan, Texas and Kansas since 2:00 CET. Iowa follows at 3:00 CET, Alaska only in the morning; details in the timeline.

There is also no projection yet of the majority in the House of Representatives or the Senate. The bars on election night still show the election-day forecasts.
