Major US broadcasters project a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives
MS NOW, CNN, NBC, CBS and ABC join the projection, the AP had not called it as of the latest reports.
Several major US broadcasters project that the Democrats will win the majority in the House of Representatives. According to Variety (published 4:23 CET), MS NOW made the projection shortly before 4:00 CET, followed by CNN, NBC News and CBS News. The broadcaster ABC News is named by WFTV (published 4:32 CET). The reports do not give a seat count. It is a projection, not an official final result.
Decision Desk HQ had already projected the majority at 3:09 CET. According to Variety, the news agency AP had not called it by 4:23 CET. Whether it has done so since could not be verified by 5:10 CET. The election-day forecasts saw the Democrats ahead, details under House of Representatives.
For the Senate there is no projection of the majority. In California, mail-in ballots count if they arrive by 10 November, and Nevada also counts for days. The exact distribution of seats is therefore expected to remain open for now; more under counting.
