Decision Desk HQ projects a Democratic majority in the House of Representatives

The projection came at 3:09 CET, the AP had not visibly followed suit by 4:20 CET, the Senate is open.

The company Decision Desk HQ (DDHQ) projects that the Democrats will win the majority in the House of Representatives. DDHQ reported this on X with the time stamp 21:09 East Coast time, i.e. 3:09 CET on 4 November 2026. The broadcaster ABC17 confirms the projection (as of 3:18 CET). According to ABC17, it is based on exit polls and votes already counted. It is a projection, not an official final result. DDHQ does not give a seat count.

Whether the news agency AP or a major broadcaster has also projected the majority could not be verified by 4:20 CET. CNBC and MS NOW report a Democratic majority in headlines; who made the projection there could not be seen. The election-day forecasts saw the Democrats ahead, details under House of Representatives.

For the Senate there is no projection of the majority. According to ABC17, DDHQ had not yet called the Senate at 3:18 CET. For Maine, Texas, Ohio, Alaska, Iowa, Kansas and Michigan, no projection by the AP or a major broadcaster could be found by 4:20 CET. In Texas, according to the Texas Tribune (as of 2:37 CET), the AP had not called the race; Talarico was ahead in early results.

The bars on election night still show the election-day forecasts. In California, Nevada, Alaska and Maine, counting is expected to take days; more under counting.
